Predator fish suggestions?

I still stick by the seahorse tank. They aren't terribly hard to care for all they need is a fuge and maybe some hIdden pod condos. You could probably have between 10 and 15 in that size tank.

Going from wanting a predator tank to a seahorse tank is a massive change!! There cool & all, but I'm not sure long term?! Buying a small Dragon Moray would be class!! There a beautiful eel and have that aggressive nature too!! One in a 150 gallon wouldn't be a problem at all. They max out at 3 foot but that's going to take a long while!! If there given space inside the rock scape, they won't move out of there cave much?! Just my two cents!!

the only problem with that reasoning is what to do once they get to that 3 foot stage? I certainly don't have a tank large enough to house it, and this tank is the largest the college has. I'd rather understock than run the risk of having something that's too large for the tank

I was thinking maybe a mantis shrimp would be awesome to. They are considered one of the most advanced predators in nature. I would also assert that you have enough depth to house a mantis and maybe some other fish.

There are a bunch of awesome moray species you could keep in a 150, and not all of them are as expensive as e. pardalis (japanese dragon moray). They actually aren't that aggressive either, and you could add triggers or other free swimming tank mates (filtration permitting).

The (apparent) lack of length means you'd have to stick to smaller fish (8-12) I would think.

Just off the top of my head:

V-tail grouper
snowflake, milliaris, zebra, chain link, or pretty much any other ~2' eel
freckled or arc-eye hawkfish
frogfish
waspfish
smaller triggers
dogface puffer
some squirrelfish (they do very well in tall tanks with lot of rock)
harlequin or tobacco bass
larger pseudochromis
tassled or fantail filefish
WRASSES GALOR!
goatfish
hi-fin drum (jacknife)
old wife
tusk fish
smaller bream
gurnard

and of course you can always mix in some other fish like tangs, fox faces etc or fill it in some brackish fish you've converted to SW like monos or target fish or something

angelfish too
