I thought this thread was about predatory fish . . . Anyway, the movie, Predators has a good trailer and Rob Rodriquez has an excellent reputation for making a good film. But, one can never tell from a trailer. We shall have to wait and see the entire movie. I've not read any reviews on this movie yet. I wonder what the screen critics are saying about it.

Now I thought the 1st AVP was outstanding. Although I'm not a fan of crossovers, I feel that AVP 1 did the best possible job of combining the two plots. that, and the fight scenes were awesome.

Now the 2nd AVP is a different story. I found it's plot extremely lacking , and the effects downright corny.

Yeah AVPR was a little too soap operaish,kinda like the Transformers movies but the action and fight scenes were good.The ending was a little weird but it seemed like it was setting up a new chapter which is where I thought this new film would pick up untill I checked out the promo web site and learned that it was a different story.....I don't usually pay much attention to the film critics but I especially don't check their reviews of these types of films.

The whole point of these movies is to watch monsters and people kill each other...I dont think they are too concerned with plot and the such.

The first predator movie is good. Gave it to my mom as an xmas gift last year.

The other predator movies are...not so hot. Am I to assume by this thread that they are making ANOTHER predator movie? Because that I will have to see.

I'm looking forward to it, but I'm a little weary if Adrian Brody can really pull off the whole mercenary role. Great actor, but definitely not a "tough guy". On the other hand, it's backed my Robert Rodriguez who's been working on the script ever since the first Pred movie. I think this is meant to be a Predators 1 sequel and meant to completely bypass the whole AVP series. It's like the Incredible Hulk movies. The newest one with Ed Norton is now the new Hulk 1 movie. Since the last movie was SOOOO terrible, they wanted to completely relaunch the franchise.

Thats probably the approach they took with the Punisher films,redoing them years after the first one was released with Dolph Lundgren as the character...I was'nt aware that Rodriguez had been working on the script so far back.

I hope it's good. I've always been a big fan of the Predator/Alien franchise. The only one I've never seen was AvP2 which I heard was awful.

IMO both AVPs weren't great.
AVP2 was indeed awful, the worse of the franchise.

I am very eager to see this movie, but I am slightly worried that it might kill the series for me if it sucks.

Even so, looks like a great thriller!!

I think it's actually gonna be the best movie of the predator franchise.
