A madtom catfish (Noturus sp.) may fit your bill. These cats grow to only a few inches. They look like miniature bullhead cats with the exception that the adipose fin is connected to the caudal fin. Jonah's Aquarium carries several species for sale.

is their any preditory catfish that can live in a 12 gallon tank. just trying out ideas for my desktop tank.

most catfish, if you feed live feeders, will just gooble them up, so they are actually scanvagers and preditors.

for that small space, i really duno what you can keep, coz most preditory catfish grow till very big.

you can keep them there then after that transfer them to a bigger tank when they grow bigger..

eg, tigrinus catfish is awesomely beautiful! =)

Madtom would be cool, bumble bee cat maybe, worm cat would be just weird, other than corys and plecos, whiptails and suckercats in general, most cats are opportunistic predators that will eat any fish smallenough to engulf.
