Can you guys give me some recommendations for predatory fish from SA/Amazon? The tank is 800 gallons in total, currently have an oscar, a monoculus peacock bass and a silver arowana in the tank.

Boullengerella maculata aka spotted Pike characin looks great but might be a bit small with an arowana in the tank, personally i love the (gymnotus) knifefish. Some species get big too

My Festae were all about that size when I bought them.
I've never seen any adults for sale locally.

Do you think 30 cm fish can be eaten by a full grown silver arowana? Maybe, maybe not. Depends on the arowana's personality, I guessed.

Look at the Festae & the Rivulatus.
Just for reference,
both Andinoacara rivulatus, and Mesoheros festae, (and others of both genera) are not Amazonian river species.
They both come from rivers west of the Andes, that are not exactly similar in water parameters such as pH, alkalinity and hardness to the Amazon.
And unless artificially introduced by human interventiion neither genera would be found with Amazonian species.
If one is ttrying to create a correct biotope, Mesoheros and Andinoacara are not part of the Amazonian system.
South America, has vast and varied fish habitats, that dont always geographically connect due to such barriers such as mountains, and other topagraphy.

But just don't take my word for it.

That is a good piece of information.

Both species did quite well in my relatively hard local water, while Oscars don't.

That explains a lot.
