Prefilter for heavy bio load large fish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I am not sure if I can work it on this setup. When I upgrade everything i will be doing sumps. I want to build a sump. maybe a 65 g hex going into the sump will work as the RFS.

Sure, IF it's not tempered, and you don't mind drilling.........

The ability to see into it would be crazy nice though......

You really got me thinking for the next tank. I just did a WC on my 125 which houses my L14s and the amount of poop is incredible.

After messing with them, I'm not sure I'll ever build another system without them.

Keep in mind, mine work and I bet they aren't even close to right. I'd venture to guess I'd need to move up to (4) 55 gallon drums before flow rates dip enough to really make them effective.......

I look at it like this - IF you have a raging kegger and stuff gets out of hand someone gets mad and craps on your floor are you going to grab a power washer and just start blasting or would you have less of a mess if you gently removed all the solid poo then clean what's left?

I bet pleco poop would settle out super easy compared to ray's snot poop. ;)
