I am thinking about adding some different knife fish. A LFS near me has a Royal, Clown, and Golden Clown. I've never had much luck keeping knife fish...seems like they all get eaten or find a way out of the tank. However, I think they are cool as hell, so I am willing to lose more money figuring it out.
The Royal was pretty expensive, 50 or 60 bucks, but the Golden was only 13 bucks, and the Clown was much larger than the others and 30 bucks. I'm gonna go look at them again tomorrow and see what I think. I'm pretty sure the Royal and Golden are too small to go in, but the Clown is 7"-8", so he may have a chance to make it.
I'd get a gar but this tank is really for the Arowana, I don't want any other surface swimmers really. I love watching the Arowana cruise unobstructed.
