Preparing Driftwood

It looks pretty solid.
 
I'm gonna boil mine in a steel trashcan over the bonfire pit. If you've got the space to do that, maybe you could boil one end at a time?

I thought so too, it's pretty heavy, and really not soft at all, can't dig my nails into it or anything

That's a really good idea, but I don't think I'll be able to do that
 
i also have a nice specimen it is part of root ball from a large tree i could not fit it in anything to boil, but i have let it soak in a wheelie bin for about 3 months it has finally sunk. long way around but it worked
