Preparing for convict babies, what must I know?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My Carpintis just had fry and they are about 2weeks old and I moved the fry to a 20g. Should I have left the fry with the parents longer? Will the fry Die now?

Purchasing a 55g before spawning any fish is highly recommened...........This tank is called a "growout tank...."As soon as the eggs hatch, siphon the wigglers into the half filled 55g.There they will soak up their egg sacks and will become fry after a week.......Do 50% water changes everyday for the first month..........Feed the fry baby brine shrimp(BBS)...............Doing a growut tank will greatly increase the number of fry turnout.....

i would wait for the babies to hatch and just take them out completely, keep them in something else go buy a 10 gallon put an internal filter and a 50 or 75watt heater,
feed them baby brine shrimp, and do what you want with them as they grow, you ensure their safety from their parents from the other fish and from that filter,
