I wouldn't call dog breeders animal lovers since most could care less where their animals end up.
Rescuing is the way to go

I agree with rescuing dogs, but these 11 puppies will need rescuing if they dont find a home so whats the point?

The reputable breeder will keep the pups or take them back if no longer able to be cared for. As for the dogs in shelters that only have 2 weeks to live. Or the puppy mills that get raided those need foster homes. Or the dog that gets tossed out the window because they no longer want them... Pay for medical bills.
So these pupps have a home.

Most presas in the US are now mixed breed dogs being sold as full blood dogs by people who don't even know they got mixed stock. I asked the bloodline out of curiosity since I have been tracking this breed since 2000. Even the AKC foundation stock service is a joke - the dogs registered through it are mixed with most of the AKC FSS stock coming out of a breeder I consider a puppy mill that I won't mention here (pm if desired).
For those interested in knowing this breed further, especially the specific traits and health, try these links - these dogs should not look like a pit bull, they also do not come in blue unless crossed. http://www.dogocanarioclub.us/standard.htm http://www.dogocanarioclub.us/health.htm

The presa canario had an official name change to the dogo canario around 2002-3 from what I remember, the nothing changed about the breed except for the name. Both names are still used interchangably today. Further history - http://dogocanarioclub.us/abouttheclub.htm

I haven't been in contact with Tracy for a few years at this point, most of my rescue has focused on pit bulls. I do know Jennifer is still active, Irinia and Alex Vyatkin probably are, and Carla as well. I do not know who is managing the site now, sorry for any dead links.

Rescuing is a better option for those who are real animal lovers.

Rescuing is great and all but supporting responsible breeders that breed pure bred dogs is also great. That's like saying everyone should only adopt children.

Good Point!
I bred 2 liters of Amstaff's, made sure I was selective about who they where sold to, and if they had issues with keeping the dog, I requested to be the first to be call in the event they felt they wanted to get rid of the puppy/dog..
We are out there, lol
