Just had a few questions, what kind of container did you use? Do you have to top off the alcohol at all and if so does it have a smell besides that of alcohol otherwise it looks very well done and I see nothing wrong with it as a tribute to a dearly beloved friend.

It was just old breaded dragon food container, dumped the food, washed it out, perfect size for my 2.3" fish, at grocery stores they have small to huge jars that seal, just pour alcohol all the way to the very top leaving little to know air, then tighten that lid as hard as you can. Absolutely no smell as the jar is sealed!

Thanks you very much for your kind words! That means alot!

that's a pretty cool project as long as it doesn't smell, which you clarified so its win win. Nice! hows your new rhom doing?

I'm not interested in starting an argument, this is a friendly forum, but piranhas aren't really as aggressive and vicious as they're cracked up to be. I tried piranhas a long time ago, they're cowards.

eveyone thats had piranhas know that, its nothing new. but rare that fish will be aggressive to humman interaction. but its allso has alot to do with how you care for them. I could tell you that Ive raised my rhom from a fry to 5 to 6 inch in an extream enviroment with water and gravle. he would go crazy almost jumping out of the tank to get away when I walked in the room. but now thats hes grown to the tank setting and feels more sicure in it and also sees me everyday and dosent need aplace to hide hes alot more aggressive to me than I think he would if I would of giving him a place to hide or if I wasent around him everyday. yeah he will still sit in the corner when Im cleaning the tank but he will take food out of my tongs tho. but what fish arnt skidish around people? I can only think of one out of my years of keeping fish.

but good job F1 I wish I would of thought of that when one of my armatus passed.

Here's update of my current rhom in his 90 gallon, 4 months old, right at the 3" mark.

everything's lookin good man. i didn't know you were preserving the old specimen. should last you a long time. if you ever got into a crunch you could even sell it but hopefully it never comes to that.
