Pretty con....

yeah I had a 4 and a half inch bumblebee cichlid with them and he was still afraid of the little 2 inch con.

plus the bumblebee is so good at hiding.

whats a good dither fish for cons?

The male con cannot be the dominant fish in the tank, or he will kill the female.

I would disagree with that, all three of my males are the dominate and have yet to loose a female. Proper tank size and lots of hiding places will help the female cope with the males aggressiveness.

I had good luck with tiger barbs as dithers, needs to be a large school though.

You have three males in the same tank. they take out their agression on eachother, and not the females. Stick 1 male and 1 female in a tank alone together, and the female will be dead in 7 to 10 days.

Each of the three pairs were started in a 20 gal with the male being 2" and the female being 1.5". I have had all 3 pair in a 75g and 2 pair in a 55g with10 tiger barbs. Currently I have 1 pair and 2 males in a 150 with 2 females in a 55g. I have always provide lots of planted and cave type hiding places. The one time I had problems with the male beating on the female was when I pulled the fry after a couple days and the con pair was in a bare 29 gallon.

My male shows next to no agression in a 35G. Even when they were in a 18G they were very calm. Only ever saw a few chases here and there. They were also alone in the 18G. Apart from 34037563453439 fry.

I have a pair in a 29 gallon that I keep for breeding feeders. The male was half the females size when I bought him. So far he's catching up in size, but she is still the dominate one of the two.
This is my first pair of convicts. I got the female off a friend. She has pretty nice color when she is in breeding mode.

I like the look on cons when they're missing the complete strip were thier dorsal starts. Mine have that.

What I find cool is that my female has always had very long flowing fins, like a males. But my 2.5" male has only just started to grow fin extensions in the past 3-4 weeks.

This girl is real nice, I named her paris hilton...Some of the pics are fuzzy, they are good for color though. 1 /shot is pretty good.

Those stripes are amazing! I wish I could cross her with my male and see what the fry turn out to look like.
