the Office living in the now...
After my tank cycles, I will be getting silvers around 5-6" for 30bucks each. Thats a pretty good deal where I live in ohio. Usually this size goes for 60ish. I will be getting 5x aro's. When my tank cycles, my aros will be going in a 20g breeder til my 210 is ready. Ill post some photos in afew weeks.

I hope you plan on upgrading or selling off some of those arows

when they get bigger!!

I think the 210 should be enough til they reach 24-28 inches. We will have to see.

210gal for 5 30" silvers? not the greatest idea. i have 3 in a 400gal and there all under 24" and it still seems a little tight to me.

but 5 silvers in a 20gal is the worst idea ever. especially since your 210gal aint ready yet. i'd get 1 or 2. i have a 5" silver in a 60gal and even that doesn't feel right.

but what do i know about arowanas, i only have 5 of them

hmmm..... 5 silver arowana's + 210 gallon tank = prison cell
Do the math, it's not rocket science.....at least have 400 gallons to do so, but if you planning on keeping them for life you might wanna think about upgrading them, to a pond that is ;) Maybe you'll get lucky and find a breeding pair that split off.

In your 210g your 5 silver will probably be ok for a year maybe a year and a half, but I think once your aros get around 18" it is gonna get a little crowded. Definitely need to wait until your 210 is ready a 20g is to small for a single 6"er let alone 5.

Reason why I want 5x in a 20g breeder is because more aro's = less fighting. As for the 210, that will be there home til I upgrade. 6x2x2.5 can be done with silvers. I agree it will be tight when they get larger but I wanted a comm tank not just 2-3 because they will start fighting so this is how I am going to start.

Two silvers works, I have even seen one black and one silver work.

Heck, even jardini's with other arowanas.

I would really not keep 5.

Unless ofcourse, you have a gigantic tank. and a 210 really isnt that big for 5 arowanas.

And also, I want to tell you someone once told me about fish keeping.

"Just because others have kept fish in such conditions, doesnt meen it's alright"

Sound pretty immature saying you gunna get what you want not considering your fishes freedom ( to swim at that )......Let's see greed + wants vs. what's good for the fish? shouldnt be too tough a question to answer responsably. I could see if you had 5 blacks but even then I personally think you need to upgrade when they get larger as well. Anyhow, hope you do the responsible thing at the begining and not cramp 5 juvy size aro's in a 20 gallon.....remember its the surface area that they NEED and 5 is WAY too many. I wouldnt even put a single arowana in a 20 as a temp grow out tank......:irked:

Exactly, 2-3 would work but 5 just so you can show it off to your friends is not cool in my book. :screwy: At least not in a 210
Not trying to be a punk, just want you to realize what you are REALLY doing, OK for long term sake
