I think you'll be best with pellets and live treats. The likely eat here or there during the day, in the size space you have and given food source its not the same as the fish feeding very lightly over the say a 1/8 mile stretch of area. You likely should heed to the consensus here and make pellets a main stay and treat him with quality live stuff you might raise up.

I'm going to buy snails shrimp krill and mabey some type of craw fish that reproduces Asexually and feed him theses and once a day pellets

If you want to watch him suck on rock crevices then get him some ghost shrimp or breed crayfish and use the young for food. That's really for your enjoyment tho as pellets will give him better overall nutrition. I understand where you're coming from tho. Fish who only get pellets get lazy and dumb, and then boring. They need to be allowed to hunt every once in awhile, which is fine, but feeding him exclusively live food will leave you with little free time and little money in your wallet.

He will eat soon you just need to make sure he knows YOUR the bringer of the food

Too late...it was being aggressive to the little Festae and baby Jag so I put it in the big tank to teach it a lesson and the lesson was a hard one indeed...the dumb little Devil tried to fight the Cuban and literally got it's face ripped off to the point where it's lips and eye and whole one side of it's face were hanging off it. It wriggled around in shock for a couple mins till the Kraussi mercifully inhaled it in one gulp and it is now nothing more than an expensive feeder but the Kraussi says "yum yum!"

Ah it was just a Petland Midevil anyways...muttfish. I was hoping to grow it out and breed it with my Texas' but it was terrorizing the little Festae and if I can only have one of the 2 survive it's the Festae. I find aggressive cichlids entertaining and generally I have a "survival of the fittest" motto in my tanks but certain fish are more special to me than others. There's nothing special about a run of the mill Devil. Just want some neat hybrids and Dev's can make some nice mixes with other cichlids. Besides, I paid for it and if I surrendered it I'd get nothing...this way the beautiful and ever-growing Kraussi gets some extra protein so there's a little return out of the deal.
So no, it was not wasted and did not perish in vain. All is well in my underwater world again :)
