price check for a true wide bar datnoid

How did you get a pulcher that small...? Is it a CT? BTW, I know many extremely experience fish keeper who confuse ST and IT :) If it is true ST, I'd think around $450 area would be a good price. But definitely nobody will buy a ST that small without good photos!
 
Pardon my ignorance but I only understand why these fish are so sought after and rare. From what I've read in other threads they're basically extinct or really close to extinction in the wild. Couldn't the people that still have some of them start a breeding program even if it's just for commercial purposes or is there a flaw with this line of thought that I'm not aware of?
 
That's a d. pulcher, but it's bigger than 6-7in

We dont even know how they breed. There was a MFK'er who claimed that they bred ST's, but never posted pictures.
 
So once the few in captivity die off we're basically left with nothing? It'd be a shame to lose such a fish from the face of the earth.
