Exactly, amazing how people worry about price for the fish, but not the thousands it will take to properly keep the fish.

i dont know what fish you're keeping but, it costs thousands initially, after it's all set up i dont think it costs as much or this hobby would be far to expensive for both you and i. Also, if it were true that people worried about the price more than the fish then they would be getting a rude awakening when they realize they can't afford it.Bderick67;3643985; said:Exactly, amazing how people worry about price for the fish, but not the thousands it will take to properly keep the fish.
why did you add the word desperately? where did you read that? Makes it sound as though in my desperation i'd be ignorant enough to forget i need to care for it. clearly not the case.Austin;3643991; said:funny isn't it. the fish he needs to desperately get for less than $200 is going to require a setup very easily running into four figures, not to mention feeding, water changes, meds, etc. i just don't get it.

2. my ideal price range took into consideration the fact that i would need some money to buy it food.
3. Paying for food is more of a monthly expense giving me time to save up
4. Why would i buy an arow if i couldn't house/keep it? It'd likely die and i'd be out $50, i see no logic in this.
why was it necessary to ask that question in that manor? seemed somewhat rude if you ask me

Austin;3644030; said:you think:
1. that you do have a tank large enough (i assume you don't)
2. that you know how large the aro will get and how much food it will consume (see above)
i think:
3. if your having to save for just the food is this a good idea? (see 2)
4. buying an aro is a huge commitment and for someone worried about a $150 price difference it is not logical.
not being rude, being realistic. oh you people, confusing realism with rudeness![]()
chronick;3644059; said:oh man.... you're being realistic? let me ask you something haha, how many 16 year olds do you know of on mfk?
i know how big arows get, i know how large of a tank i need, and i know roughly how much it'll eat lol.
If you were intelligent you'd stop and realize that chances are, fish food isn't the only thing i intend to spend my money on every month; if the concept is foreign to you, let me explain. I save my money and buy fish food every month so that the food doesn't go bad and also that way, by spending some money every month on fish food rather than blowing all my money at once and stocking food in the fridge; i can have some money on the side to buy whatever else i want. As for the $150 price difference, if you think it's insignificant, send me $150 via paypal. Being frugal doesn't mean i'm completely broke and am scrounging up money wherever i can.
Lol, keep talking so i can verbal you some more. it's making my night somewhat bareable as i am studying for chemistry and have nothing better to do
You really ought to get back to chemistry. Once you've aced that test, do some research regarding you plans to keep a black aro.Bderick67;3644071; said:You really ought to get back to chemistry. Once you've aced that test, do some research regarding you plans to keep a black aro.

2. that is a big "if", i'm at best half retarded. i want to be a firetruck
when i grow up.
3. $150 is very insignificant in the big picture....
4. "verbal" (?) me some more then, that sounds dirty
5. bearable
i'll leave it at this man, i got my first aro and didn't know what i was getting into but would do it again in a heartbeat now. they get very large, very quickly and i'll venture to say most don't get adequate care or housing. just trying to help. best of luck.
