Hello,

Just interested to find out the cost of Arowanas around the world, I'm especially interested in their cost in Asia. After reading a thread about the most expensive fish some people have bought, it has come to my attention that not only are exotic fish are more expensive in Australia, common fish are expensive here too!

I have taken the liberty of writing a small price list of the Arowana's I have either heard or seen being sold privately and by retailers (prices are AUD):

Jardini or Leichardti: $100 - $200 (20cm)
Silver: $250 (juvenile) (adults range in price from $350-$700 dependant on size)
Green: $400-700 (juvenile - 20cm)
RTG: $2500
Chilli Red: $6,000 - $8,000 (this is a guess based on a couple of prices I found, could be cheaper)
Malaysian Blue: $9,000 - $10,000

So as you can see, its pretty pricey over here. Would be good to know what the prices were like overseas whether it be Asia, America, Europe etc.

Regards

Dan.

My LFS prices

Silver Aro 4" - 7" $70
Black Aro 4" $200

I managed to talk the LFS down to $50. These prices obviously higher then what you would pay here from a dealer on MFK, but shipping costs can suck =O

im in socal where everythings cheaper LOL
silver aros3-4 inches 7 bucks
black aros 3-4 inches 35 bucks
jardini 50 bucks, and leichardti around 85

Are u planning to import arowanas from asia to your country? If you got the rights and stuff you will prolly earn way too much =p

errrr... I'd love to import Arowanas, except I don't really like the idea of getting jail time or getting hit with a heavy fine.

So you are from Singapore, what are the prices like over there?

Thailand, prices in US dollars.
Jar $30
silver $30
Black, haven't seen them but i've never asked either.
Green $60
RTG $280 up depending on quality
HRTG $350 up depending on quality
Xback $450 up depending on quality
Super reds $450 up depending on quality
blue base and the like $900 up

this is a rough idea of the prices here in the united kingdom

I am struggling to come to terms with the price of the Siamese Cross Back... that price is ridculous. I don't know why anyone would want a 2 headed Arowana either. I mean a two headed snake is pretty cool but a 2 headed aro?? But then again I am not really a fan of Albino fish either but I guess whatever floats your boat. The prices in Thailand are pretty impressive and the prices in the UK are still pretty competitive against Australian prices.

Thanks!
