Prick the Beardies new enclosure...Is that a coffe table?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That's a nice enclosure. My friend just build a couple of joined enclosures from an old display case he found near a dumpster. As cool as a pond and waterfall might sound I think this would make entirely too much humidity in the enclosure and seeing how they're a desert species you might run into some problems down the road.

:iagree:

you dont need a waterfall. just a small bowl with drinking water will work. and i would give it soaks once or twice a week and he should be fine.

to much humidity could lead to respritory infections, and other mold and fungus problems. i wouldnt risk it.

but if there is no cover to the enclosure i wouldnt see it posing to much of a problem:confused:

with no top i don't think high humidity will be a problem. he will not poop unless in water though. just like he won't eat unless hand fed. the sides are just osb coated with a high gloss acrylic latex paint.

Also with no top all the heat produced will go away. That´s why I dont like open enclosures, just my 5 cents;)

up above him is the central heating vent so he gets plenty of heat, as well as that light in the silver housing.

Oh! Me see:grinyes:

in the summer time though the vent will be blowing out cold air so look for the help post in about 3 months
