Yes, I know I should not have put my hand in the tank, even though they are small fish! But I did, and got 'pricked' by one my Pandas. What I need to know, does it normally burn like heck, (burning feeling is really bad!), for over 10 minutes? :irked:

i don't believe so. i'd get it checked out

It will def hurt, but always get it checked out because it will be very easy to get infected if you aren't careful

Ok. Thanks! I soaked it Epsom salt and warm water. Seems alright today. I'm thinking that maybe there was something sharp in the sand substrate?, and I 'wrongfully accused' my fish? Either way, soooo very glad the pain stopped after about 20 minutes, and it isn't infected.

gonna hurt . all catfish stings hurt like hell. Heres alittle trick i got from outdoor life magazine next time u get stung by a catfish rub its belly on the wound. and the stinging pain will go away. sounds crazy but it works

Is that before or after you get stung AGAIN, trying to grab the fish to rub your finger on it ? ! Very funny, WckMidas ! Is this an 'April Fools' joke in August ?

Yea the burning is normal Ive heard its because of bacteria on the spine that they sting with.

nope not a joke. The magazine was talking about when your fishing. ive done this . When i was moveing a tsn from a busted tank and it stuck it. Pluss done this many times fishing it worked. I was stuck between thumb and for finger fin was in me good half inch from my old tsn. I rubed his belly on it sting went away. Never swelled up . never hurt again. its good advice
