Prime Question

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks for all of the input guys. I have always used aqua safe and did not learn about prime until joining this forum. I will definitely be picking up a bottle when I go to the LFS next.

Awesome, it really is the best. Smell it to, smells good. :)

One last question. If used during water changes is this going to deprive the bacterias of their food supply or do they still consume the detoxified ammonia and nitrites? I am guessing it does not since so many people use it and wouldn't if it actually caused their biological filter to die but wanted to ask so that I fully understand the product.

Thanks again

If you are using Aquasafe, you are wasting your money. Prime is 5 times more potent. You'll use 5 times less. Optimus Prime thinks that Aquasafe sucks.

and your going to make me dig
i got a thread with some info
be back when i find it lol
:D

found it
http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=127545

i thought the part about testers was in that thread but i dont see it
someone, johnptc or chomps, posted a link about it messing with a type of tester

if i can remember that thread i will post it up to

or search prime messing with tester or something

:)

I have tested my water after using the prime and it does not seem to effect my API test kit. Readings are the same as before I used it.

i do get a false reading when i use prime but only for a day also prime does not starve bacteria of ammonia just converts it to a different form harmless to fish but eaten by bacteria

I use Prime DAILY, I love it, don't smell it, unless you like the smell of sulfur/eggs :)

Great product, used StressCoat for many years, but was tired of the foam it caused.

I do 50% daily changes on my 150-gallon and 22-gallon, use prime each time.
