Prime "binds" ammonia by turning it into ammonium... Ammonia Oxidizing Bacteria will consume/convert ammonium in the exact say way as it will ammonia...
Prime "binds" nitrite by turning it into ammonium nitrite... Nitrite Oxidizing Bacteria will consume/convert the nitrite from the ammonium nitrite just like it will regular nitrite...
In other words... Prime does not do anything that will interfere with the cycling process... It just alters the compounds temporarily into a form that is less harmful to our fish...
