Printer Help!!!

Hey I have an HP photosmart C 4400 or 4000 or something like that.

Anyways it takes 74 black ink and 75 color

so I ran out of color ink.... ok. I finally bought new ink and now it wont print in proper colors... I printed out something that was yellow, green, blue, purple then pink....however when it printed, it printed the yellow not the correct shade of yellow, the green as a gold-yellow, the blue as light pink, the purple as darker pink and the pink as a slightly darker pink??? I am so confused... I checked my settings and they are the same as the always have been and I am not on grey-scale or b/w selection, I am using color option. It took the new cartridge and did the alignment fine. I am lost as to what is going on though and need to get it fixed. Any ideas???

i would try it again... it may be mixing the colors for some reason.. print out a few copies and see how it does.. if all else fails call HP especially if the printer is still under warrenty.. if not write to ink company... they may know.. send them an email contact....
 
Yeah I tried re-installing my drivers already and that didnt help either. I printed out more then a few papers and its still a no go. Someone told me to clean the print heads so they are going to walk me through that later. I know its not the ink cartridge b/c it did it with the last cartrdige too. The printer is a year and almost 4 months old so I will have to see if its still under warranty I think it was only for a year. I did register it so I ll check that out in a bit.
 
yes then it is the printer.. i would shoot HP and the ink company an email anyway... they may give you the answer you need to fix it free..worth a try and yes cleaning does sound like a logical way to go... it seems to much ink is being projected out and mixing colors..cleaning is one way to eliminate some causes.
 
i feel your pain Ash. my HP printer suddenly decided it doesnt like photocopying anymore, just when i needed it, and its not even 6 months old.
