Yes.. that is a Maculipinnis - unsure where the first name came from by the OP. When they were available about 3 years ago, 3 inch specimens sold for $400 USD.

I was forutnate enough to get my hands on some, though only have 1 left (ran into water issues while building my home)

At the moment, they apparently cannot be collected as there is only one fisherman, and he has run into trouble. The location where they get collected is difficult also to get to, so it it does not make it viable to send a fisherman to collect.

Though we are piranha nuts.... if one were to collect 40 species, it would flood the market, as the pirahna market is very small.
 
What a stunning piranha!!! I'm glad to see that they keep their spots in adulthood and those red fins are B-E-A-UTIFUL!!!
