About a foot and a half each. What are they? Any info on them and what's a decent price for them

Yep. cigar shark (Leptobarbus rubripinna). They grow to nearly 40 inches in the wild and only around 24" in aquariums. This river species has a high DO requirement. They're also poop machines due to their vegetarian diet.

My dad had one years ago that I loved, probably because it was the largest fish in the tank at over a foot.

We'd had it for a long time when it developed swim bladder issues. His chosen method of euthanasia involved a meat cleaver. Being no older than 9 or 10 at the time, I was a little put off by his decision.

Haven't seen them around for a while.

x2

They are schooling fish and like tall and long tanks. I had about 4(5-6inches) in a breeder tank(80) which had lots depth and length but little height, they all got sick and started to rot away. I moved them to my 190 and they healed up right away.

They are sold here for like $10?

Not really something I would consider aquarium worthy easily, my LFS used to have a tank with a few common tank busters including an 18" cigar shark!
