I have just bought a 1 inch flower horn fry and it is one mean sucker it is already moving gravel pebbles with a mean attitude. That was the only real reason i liked it ...didn't really show much hump and its a zz type too and not much pearls either. however it was fighting a two 3-4 inch parrots and holding his own area of territory within the tank... He seems to have a short temper because each time I see him he is going back and forth from the stress bands a random times ...but its not like he goes and hides he comes out with flared gills all ready for battle...

Do i have a rocky here or something!!!

DO you know if such behavior is commonly seen in all flowerhorn's because the last 4 that I had adopted which are now 6-7 inches didnt lose their skittish personality until 5+...aggression didnt show until like 6.

hmm wonder if i have got a killing machine heheh

their behavior differs. Sounds like you have a finger chaser in your hands. Hold on to it and see what it becomes. The mean ones have cool attitudes!! Just be carefull doing WC when it gets bigger LOL!!

He isn't at all good quality..it might be even low but I was never really one that cares for show quality anyways heheh maybe cause i cant afford them heheh...

What really attracted me to this guy was his super aggressive personality..However this guy i just bought is a monster and he just ripped up a crayfish after when to shower ......The cray was recently molted by the way however it was still very surprising to me to have a 1 inch-1.5 inch do it.. he is eating the poor was alive red cray..actualyl as we speak..hope that he doesnt get too full off of the cray meat... i know its better to feed dry food ...

At the moment he is just in a 10 gallon with my feeder crays that i feed to my larger fish...i really dont know how he did it the cray fish is ripped up and i keep all my feeder crays well feed too so its not like they are starving and resorting to cannibalism...cause i use the crayfish as second feeding storage machines since they eat everything that is in the tank...the fish that eat them eat what is in them as well..heheh

well here you go dont bash me please for feeding crays they are cheap and i dont like the good fish that are all fat.

i know people who feed baby cichilds like oscars, green terrors to their adult fish..so i am not really surprised.. i feel bad for the feeders, but oh well, thats the food cycle...
i like ur new guy..keep him if u like him and he may just surprise u...

good luck :)

he is 1" in those pics?

if so he's gonna have a head on him by 4 " if anything like myn just feed him a high protein varied diet and clean water, he is dull atm but he will colour up im sure

Yea he is about 1 inch to 1.5 inch i didnt take him out to measure but using a cheap plastic ruler on the side of the tank when its near the glass wall..all his fins give a tint of redish to it and he has a tint if pink that is pretty spread out on the side of the body

he loves to fight his own image. I am gonna see if he likes superworms too..to me he looks like he will be a trouble maker but i love that about him cause he is still young.... however when he gets older i am gonna have to put him in his own solitary tank..looking into getting like a 40 long for swimming have to go to lfs today...

As for a hump i honestly dont see it coming even though he is aggressive and all ...its just his personality hahah he definitely dominates my tank of crays though ..hmm can you cycle a tank in 3-4 days...dont want to stunt his growth or change his environment too much

Oh nain, I am not going to kill the new guy or give him away .. i love him too much. ...hahha

ITs really cute when he picks up the tail and tries to get at the meat inside I think ill give him some meal worms and blood worms ..then mix it in with minnows and gold fish cant wait. i dont care for head enchancing or red color blah i just want strength and bulk with a mean attitude ...

Kind of miss the trimacs i guess..
