Duane, great experiment and the results are what I was hoping and thought they would be. Very impressive, thanks for posting these pics. Competive exclusion at it's best.
Definitely looks better, it will be interesting to see if with time the probiotic bacteria can totally starve out the cyanobacteria. Not to be a debbie downer, but my initial results were similar to yours, but eventually the cyanobacteria crept back. The septic tank product that I was using was not the same brand as yours, which may or may not explain my results.
Here is another update, 1st a pic of the log the day the experiment began, with a large growth carpet of cyanobacteria.
Now a shot from yesterday.
It appears the cyanobacteria is being edged out by a more (at least to me) desirable algae type.
