So I received a goonch a couple weeks back, the problem is that he hasn't eaten yet. I've been trying tilapia so far but I'm hesitant to resort to feeders. I have a Maxijet on the tank for flow and the temp is around 80. Ph is around 7 ammonia 0 nitrites 0 nitrates 10. Should I just resort to feeders now since it's been so long without him eating?

Try worms! Much healthier then feeders, ive yet to have any fish that doesnt take worm. Dont go w/ normal feeder fish. Bastions of disease and filth.

I would try more than just tilapia before I gave it feeders. I would also drop the temperature in the tank to about 74-76ish since they don't require water that warm. Try feeding shrimp or worms and dropping it right near his mouth. There are plenty of other foods out there to try before resorting to dirty feeders.

What kind of goonch do you have? Post pics if you're not sure.

^1 my indian goonch cat never switched to pellets. So as a result I started buying 200 rosy red feeders a week to sustain his appetite. Meanwhile my other goonches do take pellets.
