problem stingray

i have a reticulated stingray who who does not want to eat anything but ghost shrimp.i am having trouble getting ghost shrimp because the pet stores in my area do not carry them.i have tried feeding him frozen grass shrimp,red wiggelers,meal worms,andcut shrimp.he was imported febuary fist and has a diamiter of 5 inches,if anybody has any ideas it would be great help. thanks

try live blackworms or frozen bloodworms.

Have you tried chopped earthworms?

This might sound bad, but I got both of my rays on prepared foods fast by feeding them what they like to eat (in your case ghost shrimp) by hand and shortly they will recognize your hand as a source of food. Once they did that I simply switched food and they ate.

You can also try starving him for a day or two.

I feed my small retic live black worms right now and she will pound them back. I am getting her to eat smelt now. I just crush the blackworms up and marinate the smelt in it. She is slowly starting to accept it now.
