Problem with aquaclear motor

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
This doesn't help your current situation but what type of sand are you using? I use the heavier pool filter sand that doesn't mess up my ac110s. The play sand is lighter and messier and messes up impellers so you may want to rethink your sand or get a pre filter on your filter, or be prepared to buy more motors/impellers

agreed! play sand is our worst enemy. i have 9 ac 110s not to mention other size ac. the only one i ever have a problem with is the 1 on my playsand tank.

I just use regular aquarium sand. I haven't seen pool filter sand sold in my area and the play sand is always a desert brown color so I don't use that.

Are you sure the shaft is in all the way. You should also take a good look at the impeller.

The filter works fine now. I don't have problems with it since i replaced the motor.
