Just a quick update...
Haven't got around to fitting the Reactor yet (don't have the suitable pipework!) but I have given the tank a real good vaccuum, brush (to loosen the tufts) and it is starting to look a lot better. The algae is growing again, but a lot slower.
When I started to dose the tank with Ni-Po-X (about 6-8 weeks back) I did remove the Phospate remover that I had in my Skimmer (as recommended to ensure that the levels do not decrease too fast). Now that they are at least registering very low, I think I will put some fresh stuff back in again and see if that helps reduce the growth rate.
I will say that aside from the algae problem, I am very impressed with how the Ni-Po-X is keeping the Nitrate levels down - They were around 20-30
before I started, and they have gradually reduced over the period I have been using it...
Before I put the Phosphate remover in (Fluval Phosphate Remover) can anyone think of a reason I should not do it?
Thanks for the advice,
James
