problem with cichlasoma ornatum

Ya i only pulled 1 pick off, but anyway i've heard they aren't even that hard to breed its just a lack of breeding stock in the US. Somebody gets a source, some money and some time they could hold a monopoly over the US ornatum trade and make a pretty penny. I'm sure people are willing to pay upwards of $50 a piece for juvies, you get 30 sellable juvies out of each spawn and you are talking MONEY!

Yeah i hope that happens in the UK, so i dont have to pay alot for shipping i would be willing to spend more than $50, hopefully a vendor see's this that people actually will pay and import some in

There isn't one. Being on Olivers mailing list helps out wonderfully though!! He has some other great fish in as well.... The ornatums are around $100 a pop for a 3 to 5" fish. They won't be around long either, they went uber fast last time as well.

How do you get on said list?

I hope some ppl on here get some! We need more of these in the hobby. Truely a dream fish of mine but I am already ordering a fish next week and I am not made of that kind of money

I'll give this thread a bump too, for the same reasons as the beani thread. I want some of you to buy the ornatum, take tons of great pictures, post those pictures on this site (and others), get fish to spawn, get fry, and distribute fish. Then I want to read about and see pictures of the ones ditributed!
