Well.... I have a problem. My channel cat has outgrown the 10gal. I would get another tank but i dont think i have enough room for a 40-50 gal. I might but...Can somebody help me? I wanna keep the channel cat but... I have been debating if i should out it down or not... T_T Im trying to save my money up for another thing but its so hard to pick >.<; I know you all are gonna say the fish but... :nilly: Its so hard to choose D:

If you cannot rehome it at all, I would suggest selling it. In the first place, you shouldn't have bought the channel catfish if you realized upgrading may not be possible at all. Try to search on Craiglist for tank bargains and keep another fish instead that will fit your tank long-term.

If you can't sell it, try to give it away to someone. Or just give it to your LFS, might not be the best, but anything is better than the 10 gal.

And as Lupin said, please in the future make sure to research fish before acquiring them.

I have an albino Channel Cat and he's one of my favorite fish. Channel cats will get huge in a short period of time, they just keep eating. I'm sorry to have tell you that this fish will outgrow most fish tanks. These are the same catfish that fisherman fish for in lakes or rivers. Actually, the best place for a channel cat is if you have a nice size pond in the backyard with koi. Otherwise, try to find someone who will take it but make sure the person can handle a large fish. Good luck, The Doctor.

are you saying put the fish down?
because you can't keep it?:irked:
give it to your lfs, dont kill it. they may not have enough tank room to buy the fish, but they have enough tank room to take it for free.

Take to the lfs and buy some guppies... 10 g really isn't adequate for your current taste in fish ;)

There is a LFS at a nearby town but... I think that wouldnt be a good idea because they are way to pricey and probably dont have the room. I might actually get to keep it longer :D Im hopefully gonna get atleast a 30gal. Wish me luck guys.. Im gonna need it. And acutally i think it is getting close to outgrowing it. It is about 10in long. The tank is alitle. I measured yesterday soo.. I think i have some time

er you make no sence. if the LFS is "pricey" that has nothing to do with giving them a channel cat , and you wont know if they have room unless you ask! , why don't you move your gourami into the smaller tank and put the channel cat in the 65G with the koi?

Then take some time to find a better home for the channel cat?

Man, I know impulse buying is hard to resist but you gotta responsibility to that fish bro, you gotta learn

Wouldnt the Channel cat eat the dojo Loach? and if i put the gourami in the 10gal i would have to put the bluegill in the bigger one and i would have to take everything out of the 65gal. That bluegill can almost if not kill everything but the catfish O.o I heard about some PetCo Sale.. 1 Dollar a gallon? Is this true? If it is... I might just get a bigger tank :naughty:
