Problem....

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
koi have a growth rate of up to 2 inches a month, and unless you are going to have a pond you do not have the space to house it, same with the channel cat. Both of them are large incredibly messy high waste producing fish.

what is the filtration like on your 65 gallon?

proper fish for a 10 gallon are things like guppies and otocinclus, dojo loaches and the like; maybe a pair of rams or apistos as only fish.

i rarly get on people about bigger tank this and that but you really need to rethink what your doing here DO NOT get potentialy large fish and put them into a 10 gal that "big tank " you were planning never comes in time and the fish suffers.

i might go to PetCo and get a bigger tank
Might as in maybe??
Seriously, that channel catfish needs a bigger tank ASAP!
Yes, you can get a 55 and put it in there, but in a matter of months, it will have outgrown that too, then you will need a bigger one..and so on and so forth.

I never tell people about the sizes, but 10g for a channel cat is really pushing the limit. Though, i have seen silver aros kept in really horrendous conditions ... sucessfully? (that is, kept alive for along LONG time ... probably not the happy fish though)

Like people have mentioned before either get a super duper tank or at least a rubber maid.

You can't keep Koi in a 65, and a 10" Channel cat in a 10 gallon? This is ridiculous.

Essentially, man, even the 125 is too small....The tank is only 18 inches wide...Look up the adult size of a channel cat.............THEN do some research and try to find a fish that will fit whatever tank you have or might be maybe possibly getting...And by fit, I mean a 14 inch fish in an 18 inch wide tank is the absolute MAXIMUM.....Channels are massive...I have 21 tanks some are large, but none are large enough for a channel. A 65 for this fish is not even funny........
