Green water is algae and can be resolved with several water changes. Cloudy water is either bacterial blooms, like in cycling, or in my tanks case, messy eaters. My water is never going to be perfect, but I'm gonna get a micron cartridge so that it doesn't look like a snow globe when the lights are one. Sorry for your loss, but Algaecides are something I rarely recommend. Algaecides also cause the DO to drop because all the dead algae begins to decay.
