Problems with my channa aurantimaculata

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I am quick happy now because he had start to chase the shirmps and feed more in this morning.

So far i found he got less interest on small fishes, his favorite foods are shirmps, mealworm and superworms (i only feed with those had just change skin and become soft and white color one)...later on i will try to feed it with crickets and carnival fish pellet.

The photos below are my current channa aurantimaculata:

Yesterday night i tried to feed it with crickets and he got ate like a pig...haha.

But i think crickets' head are quite hard, even harder than mealworms and superworms...will it be any problem for channa aurantimaculata to digest?

no they are not a problem, just keep an eye on there poop, its mostly, superworms that cause the problems, haveing sied that they are good to use on fussy eaters and the sick because of the high fat content:)

Thanks for your opinion.
But now crickets are no longer his favorite food...Man, he is a fussy eater now, got no interest on other foods than mealworms / superworms...

How to train him to accept other foods? Or now he is stil small and can let him be like this for some times?

while they are still growing superworms will be fine, try him with earthworms, whitebait, prawns, bloodworms,if he is hungry enough he will eat almost any thing
