Do you have problems with the weather?
For example, here and now, it's 9:30 AM and its 29ºC, my indoor tanks are 31ºC!
I use a fan trying to get it fresh but it's useless!
What kind of problems do you have? and What do you use to do?
I use a DIY small computer fan and direct it at a 45 degreee angle across the water surface. This aids evaporation and can cool the tank down to about 3 degrees below ambient temperature.
the problem is that the temperature is too high, that even so with the fan the tank temperature don't fall!!
When i'm at home, and the tank tempearture is over 32º, i use some ice in the water, but it isn't secure!
Youu need to ID and remove the heat sources that are keeping your tank above ambient room tems. Check light ballasts. As they age, they'll put out more and more heat as the step transformers degrade. Check your pump(s). Anything slowing the impeller will cause your stators to overdrive and that creates more heat. If the pump(s) seem to be Ok, are they submerged? If so, switch to external pumps so the heat is dispersed into the air instead of into the system.
That's not much of a temperature change, 2 degrees at most. Warm water is low on oxygen, so an airstone would add water flow, cool the water, and provide more oxygen.
If you don't have a problem with water shortages there a short term solution is to use a length of 1/2" plastic tubing (like for a siphon) and run it from the cold water tap through your tanks in several loops, then out to your drain. It acts as a heat exchange without exchanging water and while not pretty works well. If you have a water shortage or pay high rates for water this can be cost prohibitive.
Powerheads with venturi vents will add DO2 and surface motion to speed evaporative cooling.
