Ewurm, if you took 65 down to Indi. you missed the sand dunes that are just a little further east about Valparaiso- Michigan City area. About this time of the year, the Sand Hill Cranes start to gather and are visible in flocks of 100 or more down 65. No fish stores to write home about near me, I go to Valparaiso or South Bend. Valparaiso is about 40 miles west, South Bend is about 80 north-east for me.

I was gonna mention the dunes- its like our little slice of California:D

If you drive to Valpo (I take it you go to valpo hobby and pets) you might as well come en extra 15-20miles West on RTE30 to Merrillville/Schererville/Highland/Hammond- there are 5 nice stores in a 10 mile area. Send me a PM if you are ever coming out this way. I'll give you some cool spots to check out.

I was looking for some Discus for my son, I called Valpo Pets and Hobby. They put me on hold for half an hour, then hung up on me, twice. I then called Pet Haven, after finding a 10% off coupon on their website, they had discus at $49.99 - $60. We got there and not only did they give me the 10% off but also sold me 2 Discus at $40 each. I am suppose to be going to a place in Hobart with a friend and fellow reefer to check out corals. The monster fish shop in Laporte went out of business last year. They had almost anything you would want (that was legal). I had seen RTCs that were about 3 ft long, pacus that were bigger than the steering wheel of a car, full grown oscars, and knife fish that were about 2 ft long.
