I need to buy four 4ft programable lights for my 4'x8' aquarium. The water depth will be 29" from the surface of the water to the substrate. I want the lights to sit on the lids to cut down on glare. I will have around 6 tinfoil barbs in the tank and from experience these guys can hurt themselves from the lights being turned on and off. I was looking at Fluval, Twinstar, Hygger ect ect. I won't have any live plants so that solves one problem. I don't want a light that puts on a yellow cast to the aquarium and I read that the Fluval 3.0 and Fluval 4.0 plant light will do just that and the Aquasky from them is no better. However I do like the program they offer with their lights. I was looking at the Twinstar S Line and the 47"cost about $459.00 each. Has anyone had any experience with Twinstar S series lights? I can afford 4 of their lights if they are really worth it. Any other suggestions?

Have you looked at Finnex lights, not all of them are for planted tanks. Some are just lights but still have the 24/7 cycle where they fad to blue at night then off for a while then fade back on. Or are programmable.

I have switched every light to Aquaillumination Primes and Blades. Their app is excellent, easy to set up with any color spectrum, and the shimmer is gorgeous if that’s your thing(I love the intensive shimmer effect). I have not found a better lamp except for Kessils but you’d need a seperate controller to control additional channels and color spectrums.

This the mount I use for the Blades.

I use 3 of these per 240g. Those tanks are 84x24x24 so you’d need at least 6 Primes.
