hey dayak, I'm a local in Fair Oaks, its good to see another local. As to the Temp. and the size of the thank pay it no attention. My Aro does not even know what a heated water is. I have had my aro for five years as of next month and has been vary happy in a 100g tank. The aro is 22" and has been alone in the take for a year or so now. Had to take its tank-mate (Green-Terror) to Capital Aquarium. The Aro was starting to beat the Green-Terror up. Luckly I get to still see the Green-Terror in the display thank there.

Any way this weekend I plan of moving the Aro to its new 125g tank this weekend.

Also, I had good luck feeding my Aro's on freeze dried krill that I crushed in my hand, took to pellets with out a miss. I could have be luck as I named my Aro Hungier ( hungry died) but its worth a try with the krill, may take to pellet easier.

FINALLY I GOT TO POST #5

Wow.
Just read through this thread.
And I find it quite disturbing.
The OP tank is in no way bigger than 75gal. I would bet money it isn't even near that.

To the foolish (and downright cruel) people in this thread and you know who you are, listen to advice from the experts that have tried to tell you, and become a "fish KEEPER" instead of a "fish MUST HAVER".

So what if I have 75G tank for my juvie aro which is right now approx 7 inch and he onws the tanks sky all to himself.
He has a lot of room as right now and he is very playful and happy and very healthy, that's all what matter
What is is expert in fish keeping, is it because u have arowana with big tank in the mean time u bought a lot of aros and only 2-3 aros survived?
My must have fish is asian aro, too bad I can't have it on where I live, so here it is I have SA, I could have jardini instead but they don't look beautiful too me and black aro is way over price for what it is

Is this a shot at me? One of the aros I lost was from it jumping from the tank. You have already made the same mistake. So already your success has as much to do with luck then anything else. Big difference in raising aro from 2" babies as opposed to 7" juvies. I am far from an expert IMO, but I do have alot of experience in both success and failure. You? well you just have your arrogance. Hopefully your aro will be lucky enough to survive, until your realize the value in the advice that I and other members have given.

Yeah I have mine from approx 5 inch that I housed in 20G tank for weeks, no I do not have experience in raising 2 inch aro or that still has yolk attached to it, its not because I can't but I do not want LOL
And yes I valued others opinion and think about it if its make sense I will learn from it.
Yeah sadly my aro jumped out and it would be his last jump, so far so good maybe u can say I'm lucky or stupid letting the lid cracked open on his breakfast.
When u caring aro there's no such thing as lucky, because they demand care and no neglaction

just did WC the nitrate reads high..first water change, lasted 3 weeks..
this last pic taken yesterday, it is cute pic atleast to me LOL

Nitrates aren't the only thing to worry about. The amount of dissolved solids diminishes, lowering the pH, meaning the next water change could cause a pH swing. Also, the dissolved organic compounds climb higher and higher. You should do your water changes once a week.

test the water every 2 days for now and see how often i have to do WC, and i do have the complete set of water test from API. i did the WC not because i wanted to but the result told me otherwise, i had 0.25 ammo from 0 last week, PH was 7.4 from 8.0 last week , my nitrate was 40ppm from 5 last week , the nitrite was 5ppm from 0.25ppm last week..
i would appreciated your input on the water and i do have my wife checking the water quality.
