Progression on dovii - 2.5" - 9"

Do his blues come and go, or is it the pics? I ask because mine switches his colors constantly but of late hasn't been displaying the deep blues that he did a few months ago.

thanks. yeah the blues used to come and go but not he's displaying most of his colours all the time. from 2.5 - 5" was his most colourful state, then ithink he had a growthspurt and his colours weren't that great. now he's 9" + he's starting to colour up again quite nicely. still nothing like the F1's you see on here though

yeah he's developing nicely. just a bit disheartening when you see the quality of dovii on this site (F1's, F2's etc) compared to dovii's in australia, but i'm pretty happy with him none the less.

So what is your stock list in your tanks ATM. How many of the female dovii did you keep?

at the moment i have:
2 umbees in a 6' devided,

community 5'x2.5' tank with festae, cuban, JD, texas, salvini, convict and a small dovii,

7'x2' with my big male dovii and a breeding pair of convicts.

also have a hospital tank 2'x2' setup for a 8" dovii that i thought was a female and it got the crap kicked out of it by my big male.

it seems that all the dovii's i've had in my 7' were males, they were all just being dominated and not showing any male characteristics. this whole dovii mission has almost been not worth it LOL.

here's some pics of the one i thought was a female. definitely more yellow that my male and as you can see they dug out a massive crater and cruised around together. hahah i thought they were a pair!!
