Just saw the commercial for progressive auto insurance is now offering pet insurance. I wonder if this covers tanks too. If this did it sure would ease a lot of us MFK'ers minds if we had this insurance. What do you guys think would it be worth it to insure your fish and equipment, I sure do.

Im not sure i think the commercial was jsut reffering to if you pet was in an accident with you? That would be cool if they covered tanks though

All forms of pet insurance is basicly a rip off.... if you put the amount of money away each month that you'd spend on a premium then you could cover any disaster yourself...

Even better...if you don't have a disaster you still have the money to spend on another tank....

Isn't that the truth, I have SR22 and it is HELLLL!

theoretically, if you had something MAJOR happen to your tanks, your homeowners/renters insurance would cover it, just ask your agent.
It'd have to be more than $500 in damage (or whatever your deductible is), but if you have 20 tanks, and say an earthquake hit, it would cover all the tanks and equipment. I'm not sure if it would actually cover the live animal part though.
