New plan for this tank location. I did not want to have to do all the house mods to put inwall. It will be going in the basement. I am currently working on finishing a couple of rooms, one for my son's bedroom and a fishroom for ....well, me and my fish
Actually, GE silicone 1 forms a pretty tough bond with acrylic. I wouldn't use it to bond tank sides together, but if you're just going to glue a sheet across the damaged corner, it'd probably be fine.
Might be kinda ghetto fab with a corner just cordoned off because it's damaged though. The other problem of course is that the corner overflow will prevent water from getting to the damage, but it won't add any of the lost strength back into the tank. I would just get a few tubes of weld-on 16 and some offcuts of heavy duty acrylic from ebay to repair that corner.
Haven't done anything with this tank, I am trying to get the fish room in the basement finished. Once I get that done I will then have somewhere to put the tank.
Bderick67.. I don't know how you do it.... I would have been obsessed with getting this thing fixed and throwing some water it in... I mean to me its found a temp home already in the garage seeing it with water in it would also modivate me to get it to it's chosen location
Patience is a virtue I just don't have Nice to see some people do have it ...Have you chosen your method of repair yet?
