you should drill a hole in the bottom, run an airline through it, silicone it in, and put an airstong on it, then burry it all with gravel... give you a goo biological filter without hardly any maintanence

That's a good idea
Probably not the bottom though, but the side/bottom, below the gravel line. On the true bottom and the line will be kinked.

I like that idea, and very doable.

I say put a sponge filter in the bottom, and do a couple male guppies and a red cherry shirmp. have a fake plastic plant in there too.

yea thats what i mean bottom/side. and i was going to advise a sponge filter but youd occasionally have to take that out to clean it, and you were saying low maintanence. a air tube under ur gravel would need no maintanence

Will you be adding any live plants to help keep nitrates down?

No plants, not going to do sponge - tight opening on top and she won't maintain the plants and such.
Super easy it must be.

The air, yes though
