Which part do i cut.?
If i didnt draw over the right part can you save the picture and circle the right part to cut.

Greatly appreciated.

I just did 2 frags in 5 minutes and will do more later if this turns out right
But one thing i dont get and he did not post is when the coral has attached to the rock what do i do with the tooth pic, Leave it there? How would i take it out?

you can just slide them out. give it some gentle twists, and slowly pull while bracing the edge. You can also probably just leave it, but I don't like leaving wood in my tanks. I have used plastic toothpics for this in the past. Good for you, propogating corals rules.

Soft corals that branch of like trees, should be pruned as such.

What I mean, is that while soft corals are generally easy to care for and very hardy, there is a way to cut them that will reduce injury and chances for infection. You always want to cut at a node, and avoid stub cuts. Look up proper tree pruning techniques to get an idea.

As far as attaching, soft corals (and shrooms) have a tendency to slime up, so reef glue or super glue gel doesnt work that well. One method I have used, and liked, is using bridal vale mesh. You jsut go to wally world or jo-anns (or whatever) and pick up some bridal vale mesh material. Cut it to fit the size you are working with, place the frag cut end down on your what you are attaching it to, place mesh over the top and around the rock, and hold the mesh on with rubber bands. In about week or two, it should have attached.

sounds good i get what you mean, one thing is i used a very small sewing pin , the pin has one sharp end and the other end i placed/ jammed in the por of the liverock where the stem fits in and the other half is sticking out, so far good tho. let me know what you think about this concept

Thats interesting. I hadnt heard of anything like that before.

Seems like it should work

Strange. Bridal mesh sounds like a nightmare to me.

Honestly...most softies will "frag" themselves under the right conditions and you will find yourself pulling the stuff out of your tank.
