Properly Gutted!!

I had a look in a few secret lfs i've scoped out over the past few years and there were a few niceish polys, but nothing A. big enough, or B. odd enough. But I have put the word out to a few importers and also local breeders that I'm on the look-out for something special my list from most desireable to least is:
1. albino ornate
2. unusual hybrid
3. melanistic Bichir of any sp.
So lets see what the next week or so holds and I'll keep you all posted on the outcome.

according to mi experience, i think bichirs cant properly distinguish pebbles from sinking pellets until the pebbles are in their mouth, i've seen several times my bichirs mistakingly trying to swallow a pebble as if it was a pellet, good thing is they are able to throw it out somehow, but i guess not all the time.
Sorry for the loss... Ive had my Sen for around 3 and a half years... I don't think I'd have the emotional courage for an autopsy 
I was very curious as to the cause of death, I really didn't think it would be gravel as she has always been on the same substrate. No emotional courage mate, I just can't stand to not have an answer. Besides I grew up on a farm, hunting and fishing a lot when I was young. I got gravel and I hear bichirs dont like it. I think im gonna switch to bare bottom. I would be furious if I lost a fish due to the gravel especially after reading this and knowing its a possibility.

Glad to hear that tcarswell, learning from others mistakes is much better than repeating them yourself.
