Even without predators, with daily feedings, none of the dangers of nature,...... yet......, the disease section is filled with problems.
I believe putting large fish in what really constitutes to a puddle, or a rut in the road, mostly due to financial or special concerns, should be taken into account by all well meaning fish keepers.
To me putting an oscar in anything under 100 gallons, is like putting it in a puddle, or just as bad putting it in improper water conditions, which often goes hand in hand with being stuffed in a puddle.
Even putting an oscar (or any large cichlid) in 200 gallons, is like putting it in a culvert of a drive way.
What species would you confortably or realistically find in such a limited amount space?
At best, maybe some killifish, a few mosquito fish, minnows. But an oscar, an arowana, a pacu or stingray?
Recently here on MFK there was a post wondering about fish getting sad in a small space, seems to me they usually express that "sadness" quite obviously.... either they kill there neighbors, or get a disease or just plain kick the bucket.
