thanks

it cant hang on the side either as the tank is being sited in an alcove thats only 1'' bigger than the tank all the way around.
as for not needing it yet thats a good point as i am only adding live rock for the first month before adding fish.
i cant get a sump set up now either as the tank is not drilled although i could look into getting it drilled locally then making a sump.
what do you think, also what is a slikter?

Links don't work here either.

I feel lost, what kind of ext. filters are you going to use and where are they going to tb mounted?

Do you mean because of the close proximity of the tank to the wall everything has to be mounted onderneath the tank?

Were you going to set up the tank , then tear it down to have it drilled?

Or are you just trying to dry fit everything before finalizing the design?

At 32in square, you have enough room underneath for a W/D filter with a refugium and skimmer. Drill for 1.5" bulkheads 'cause you can always throttle down but you can't open them up. And depending on the return pump pressure maybe a couple of power heads for circulation.

If you didn't want a see thru tank, you could put a divider 5" from the back and build the filter in the tank...16g filter and no drilling :D.

Fodder for thought.

2 x standard external filter aquapro filters that look like pro 2's, these will be mounted under the tank on the floor

yes i have had the tank built so that it only has 1'' gap all the way round so that i can get as much tankspace as possible for the alcove.

i have decided that i am not going to get it drilled and will not use a sump only externals and live rock and a skimmer

yes i want all equiptment so i can build the stand to fit the space, tank and all equiptment, i learned a long time ago to get it right first time hence all the question so far and all the ? to come LOL

no sump unfortunatley

ok here is a link to what i have found to use for my first idea, what do you think and how do these work.

I don't know that model, but it looks like it would set beside the tank. I think you could mount it below the tank and gravity feed to it and from there to a sump and then pumped back to the tank. Like all gravity feeds, use a siphon break at the tank water level.
