funny thing is i used to have 6500 lungfishes, but they were all about 2" long, got together and used their crushing abilities via tooth plates to destroy my digital camera. i'll probably let this thread run for about 5 pages and tell another story :grinno:

don't worry, pics will be up sooner than that, just a matter of getting some time to do it :) --

:D:D just feed them loads of cafeteria, cat and dog food. and they will grow to 3 ft in 2 months...and make sure they don't jump out of the tank just before you want to post their picture.:D:D

very nice fish man. what are u feeding? i assume alot of inverts.

:headbang very nice fish man. what are u feeding? i assume alot of inverts.

just how aggressive are these fish? will they play well with others? ive heard their insane.

the lungfish currently gets a regular diet of chopped shrimp, sometimes soaked in vitamins, as well as hikari massivore pellets...overall these provide a pretty complete diet. i'll occasionally throw in some algae wafers/veggie sticks as well, as he loves to take those down too.

as for aggression...he's become more aggressive over the years...sometimes even snapping at the glass just when i come to look at the tank! definitely doesn't play well with others, and i don't plan on keeping him with any other fishes...except for the lone male guppy that sticks to the surface plants all the time :)

MODS -

i realize this thread started off as just a pic (and says so in the subject line), but there is more info about this lungfish species in the thread, and is more pertinent to the lungfish forum than the photo lounge. that and there would probably be more use of it back in the lungfish forum, since it will only get buried in the general photo forum. would be grateful if it could be moved back to the lungfish forum. thanks :) --
