Got a few q's about them. Basicly, anything about there care! lol
And were can i get one?

note this would be my first lung. My forte tends to be gar

Get them from Toyin. They are the most common marble african lungfish around. Care is just like any other lungfish. Very easy and undemanding fish. Just watch out when adding tankmates as they can just crush them easily. However I'm probably the only person here who comm lungfish together but it doesn't work with everyone unless they want to take risk. they will eat anything from meaty food to veggies. Veggie matter will help it to prevent the lateral lines pores from expanding.

Here's mine. Beautiful looking, but hands down the most boring fish I've ever owned. My SAL, WAL and AUL are much more active. The MAL won't even move if there's food in the tank, it waits for complete darkness. Otherwise it sits in the same spot, all day every day. Hopefully this is just an individual thing and they're not all this slothful lol.

What do they eat? In red.
Mine is only at 30 inches and seems to be slowing down. I only had mine for 2 months and not sure of max growth rate but they are one of the biggest lungfish around for sure. African lungfish don't seems to reach it potential max wild size in aquaria.

lol. how did i miss that. hmmm, i might have to make the leap into lungfish. 30 inches is a pretty big fish but they are beautiful!

very few large-growing predatory fishes do (think gator gars, arapaima, tarpon, AUL)...due to captivity effects, this rarely occurs.

Grif's lung is 40+ in.

and about the activity mine got very active after a few months of having him they will eventually get more active if they are kept in a room in the house that has high human traffic for them to get used to it takes time but they will get used to it and become more active

Mine is in the same room with the other three lungs, all of which are active.

I guess its just verys from lung to lung but mine remained shy and elusive for months until I moved him into my livingroom where the family stayed most and it took about another month and than he slowly started to become more and more active OH and the tank was very sparsly decorated gravel and maybe just one or two plants
