I didn't see any marbled sailfin catfish when I was looking for one when I had a silver aro (was planning on a very large tank), but now that I have a jardini instead and don't need as large of a tank, I saw some today. I was really tempted to get one, but I kept myself from doing it :D

IDK, I don't expect to get any replies (who cares, lol), but just wanted to say that I showed some self-control and didn't make a wrong decision. If it was a true perruno, I would've probably picked one up.
 
lol i just bought one a couple weeks ago and its a pig! its doubled it size already and really a awsome fish... u shoulda bought it! lol jk... how do you know if it a true?

yeah, i was afraid it would outgrow my 125 before I knew it (or at least before I had a bigger tank) and I would be too attached to get rid of it.

P. perruno have 8 dorsal fin rays and L. longibarbus have 10-11

BAD Decision :confused:

I know how you feel! I got to resist every time I step foot into a pet store. But when I'm bored, I go to the pet store to keep me occupied, but then I have the dilemma of trying not to buy anything.
 
Would pay good money for a true perruno!

i'm actually thinking about going and picking one up if i find someone local who will take it if i can't get an appropriately-sized tank in time. whatdya think?

I saw the TSN again that the FoCo LFS had and was really tempted cuz it looked so underfed and skinny (they had 3 last time i was in, now theyre down to 1). I wonder who is buying those. they also have about sold out of the silver aros. someone bought a 16" black pacu they've had forever when I was in today. i don't think they know what they're getting into. i know they don't w/ the pacu because the guy said they feed it a small handful of PELLETS once a day. I'm thinking I shouldve stepped in and told they they can get HUGE and that they need veggies, too. If it was a black rhom, i would've gotten it a while ago :grinno:
