i can vouch that these are a proven pair. after their babies hatched they beat up on all the other fish in the tank. to include a Venezuelan pike that didn't dare eat for 3 days. he had a good inch on the larger jag and plenty of girth. they escorted their fry all around the tank letting them eat from the algae that was growing unchecked due to the pleco's hiding from death. they would patrol constantly and eat in shifts. good parents from my point of view.
i know that the tank i just described wouldn't be a good breeding tank, that wasn't the intended purpose. didn't know they were a pair at that point.
